CDM Regulations

The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 places legal duties on those involved in construction projects. These duties are outlined below:

• Role of the Client
  The roles and responsibilities of clients under the CDM Regulations.
• Role of the Designer
  The roles and responsibilities of designers under the CDM Regulations.
• Role of the CDM Co-ordinator
  The roles and responsibilities of CDM Co-ordinators under the CDM Regulations.
• Role of the Principal Contractor
  The roles and responsibilities of the Principal Contractor under the CDM Regulations.

The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 also requires that certain documents be in place at particular stages in the design and construction process. These documents are explored below:

• Pre-Construction Information

• Construction Phase Plan
  The layout, purpose and information to be included in a Construction Phase Plan.
• The Health & Safety File
  The layout, purpose and information to be included in a Health and Safety File.
